Tahoma School District's Special Olympics program is open to all Tahoma School District students with intellectual disabilities between ages 8 and 21. To be eligible to participate in the State of Washington Special Olympics Regional and State Events, athletes must:
• Be at least 8 years old
• Be diagnosed by an agency or professional as having one of the following conditions: intellectual disability; a cognitive delay as determined by standardized measures such as intelligence quotient or other generally accepted measures; or a closely related developmental disability, i.e. functional limitations in both general learning and adaptive skills.
• Complete the Athlete Registration Packet, including all required medical and release.
• Agree to uphold the Special Olympics Athlete Code of Conduct

All athletes must have a current Special Olympics of Washington Athlete Registration Form (included in the athlete registration packet) and the Tahoma School District Medical Evaluation Report form completed and signed by their physician in order to participate. This is needed for the first practice! Returning Athletes will be contacted regarding the status of their physicals/registration forms.

This is great opportunity for skill building, socializing, after school activities, and making new friends and it's free!
